AJAX Comments

I've been using HaloScan for comments since I started this blog back in June. In that time, I've grown increasingly frustrated with the service. The site is frequently down. But, worse than that, it's slow. Clicking on the comments link to open the comments window is an unreliable operation that often requires hitting F5 multiple times before the page will display.

As the number of comments on my blog continued to grow, I knew I better do something about the problem sooner, rather than later. So, I spent a few hours hacking together my own AJAX comments system for .NET. (I can already see the first comment to this post, "Why .NET?" Well, because I have .NET hosting with GoDaddy, that's why)

Please note, I put this together in just a couple hours so it's nowhere near as robust as it should be. For example, I'm not handling SQL-related exceptions. But, if you're looking for an alternative to HaloScan, I think this is a pretty good substitute, especially if you're using Blogger.

Please help me put the new comments system through its paces by leaving one now!
