I'm Huge in Spain

Alright, I'm not all that huge in Spain, but I'm pretty damn cool. Yesterday, my Ajax demo made the front page of Meneame, a site that appears to be a Spanish knock-off of Digg.

As a result, I saw an enormous spike in traffic. At one point, I was getting as many as 30 unique visitors per minute. This is not the first time I've seen a huge wave of traffic, my image clustering post made the front page of Reddit back in August and a few years ago I had a post slashdotted.

I will say this of Meneame readers, they don't leave comments. At least, not on English language sites. Although nearly 10,000 people visited my site yesterday, only 1 person left a comment. That's fine considering sites like Digg and Reddit tend to attract a lot of the comic book guy kind of posters who insist on starting every post with "Actually..." as reflected by the comments on my image clustering post.
